Raw. Vegan. Mince. Pies. You read that right.
To be honest, the inspiration for this post was thinking about Christmas treats that can’t possibly be made raw, or vegan. It took Google 0.6 seconds to prove me wrong.
There are quite a lot of recipes out there, actually, ranging from traditional to creative. The Vegan Nigerian’s blog had the great idea of using hollowed-out apples for the “crust”. If you’re looking for something closer to a classic mince pie, however, this Nest & Glow recipe looks great. I’ve shared the ingredients below. Click for the complete recipe.
RAW MINCE PIES RECIPE

- Yield: 6 raw mince pies
INGREDIENTS
RAW MINCE PIE CRUSTS
- 90g Almond Flour
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil or Coconut Butter
- 1 tbsp Sweetener such as maple or date syrup
RAW MINCEMEAT FILLING
- 90 g Dates
- 1 Apple, finely cut
- 1 Lemon juiced
- ½ tsp Lemon Zest
- 2 tbsp Raisins
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- ½ tsp Nutmeg
- a few tbsp of Water for blending
