Just a few days to go until our Bikram yoga holiday in the Algarve.
We have a fantastic group of lovely, dedicated, all-around fun yogis heading out to Quinta Mimosa in Portugal for a week of sun, intense hot yoga sessions, delicious fresh food, the odd tipple, and lots of inspiring conversation. This annual yoga holiday is one of my favourite teaching experiences of the year, and I know that we’re going to have a wonderful time.
A couple of tips for those of you coming out:
-Rest up! It’s easy to get caught up in last minute rushing around, but you’re about to embark on a solid week of yoga. Arriving exhausted is going to diminish your enjoyment of the first couple of days so keep the pre-holiday stress to a minimum.
-Drink up! Flying will dehydrate you faster than you can say “emergency coconut water” so take extra care to drink plenty before, during and after your flight. You’ll feel the benefit in class.
-Wind down! This isn’t just a holiday, it’s a yoga holiday, so approach it with the same open mind you do a regular session. The practice will be intense. Travel, climate, food, etc can all affect how you feel so be easy with yourself. Don’t expect to do every pose in every session perfectly, just be present, mindful, and engaged.
