Chestnuts are one of autumn’s seasonal treats. Slightly sweet and highly nutritious, they are delicious simply roasted. However, they are also a warming, filling addition to all kinds of recipes.

According to BBC Food, chestnuts are lower in protein and fat than other nuts, and almost all the fat is unsaturated. They are also a good source of fibre. Among their nutrients are calcium, iron, zinc, B vitamins, and vitamin E.
