Sea vegetables, aka seaweed, are packed with minerals including iodine, calcium, magnesium and potassium, plus they have B vitamins, protein and fibre. They have all sorts of health benefits, including improving digestion and heart-health, regulating hormones, and detoxing the body. You might think eating seaweed begins and ends with sushi, but it is very versatile. Add it to soup or salad, or crumble toasted nori sheets (aka sushi wrappers) over a jacket potato or rice bowl to add a hit of savoury flavour and lots of minerals.
