The great scientist Isaac Newton discovered the first law of thermodynamics which, in my experience, is also the first rule of fitness: a body at rest remains at rest, while a body in motion stays in motion, unless acted on by an unbalanced force.
Think about that. If your butt is on the sofa it will stay there (and keep growing) unless a force — that’s you! — acts. The good news is once you get moving this rule states that you tend to keep moving. If you’ve had a break the hardest thing to do is kick yourself into action again, but believe me, that is exactly what your mind and body need. The first few classes will be tough but once you get your Bikram yoga momentum back you won’t want to stop.
